We are now open at the Desert Cahuilla Wetlands, 72-120 S. Lincoln Street, Mecca, 92254. Please see map below as there is very little signage yet and our address doesn't accurately appear on most address searches and GPS.
Here at the Desert Cahuilla Wetlands, habitat for migratory birds and other wildlife abounds. If you plan on bird watching and/or hiking around the wetlands, please wear comfortable shoes as the area around the ponds and lakes is surrounded by dirt roads. Fishing is also available in the stocked ponds. Call for more information. The Wetlands requires that all visitors (including museum visitors) sign the guest register and pay an entrance fee of $5 per person, kids 10 and under are free. The museum staff is reponsible for handling this task. There is no additional entrance charge for the museum.
